Part 1: answer, explain, add one detail
Give a direct answer first. Add a reason or a small example. Then stop naturally.
Parts 1 and 3 use a 1-minute practice timer. Part 2 gives you 1 minute to prepare, then 2 minutes to speak.
Record or open an answer
Recording and playback happen in your browser. Nothing is sent to IELTS PowerTips.
Coach yourself after every answer
Do not try to sound impressive. Listen for clear communication, natural development and speech that is easy to understand.
Check that your response stayed on the topic instead of drifting into unrelated ideas.
Part 1 needs a little detail. Part 2 needs a sustained story or description. Part 3 needs reasons, examples and sometimes another point of view.
Notice long language-search pauses, repeated fillers or memorized-sounding phrases. A short thinking pause is better than forcing complicated language.
Focus on clarity, word stress, sentence stress and intonation. You do not need a British, American or any other particular accent.
Second-attempt challenge
Record the same question again. Change only one thing:
Choose one improvement, then record the answer again.
