What IELTS PowerTips stores

IELTS PowerTips is designed so that most tools work directly in your browser. If you save a target band, test date, practice streak, recent tools, or other local progress, that information is stored in your browser using local storage. It is not an IELTS PowerTips account and is not automatically transferred to another device.

Writing PowerCheck

Text entered into Writing PowerCheck is processed in your browser. IELTS PowerTips does not upload or store the writing you paste into that tool.

Speaking Practice

If you use the microphone recorder, your browser will ask for microphone permission. Recordings are created locally in your browser for playback and optional download. If you open an existing audio file in the Speaking Practice tool, it is also handled locally in your browser. The public Speaking Practice tool does not upload these recordings to IELTS PowerTips.

Study plans and email

Study plans are generated in your browser. If you use the email option, IELTS PowerTips opens your device's email application with the plan inserted into a new message. IELTS PowerTips does not send the email or receive the message contents.

Analytics, advertising and third-party services

IELTS PowerTips may use analytics and advertising services, including Google services, to understand site usage and support the site. Those providers may use cookies or similar technologies and may receive information such as your IP address, browser or device information, pages visited, and interactions with advertisements. Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies and applicable consent requirements.

The site also loads web fonts from Google and may link to external services such as YouTube. Visiting those services is subject to their own privacy practices.

Your choices

You can clear locally saved IELTS PowerTips data through your browser's site-data or storage settings. You can also control cookies, microphone access and other browser permissions through your browser settings.

Children's privacy

IELTS PowerTips does not knowingly request sensitive personal information from children through its core tools. Users should avoid entering personal or confidential information into practice content.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when site features or service providers change. The date at the top of this page shows the latest revision.
